Constitution

Officers
There will be eight committee members, one member representing each local working group.

  • Additional members may be co-opted for their specialist knowledge or expertise.
  • The following officers will be appointed:
    • Chair
    • Vice Chair
    • Secretary
    • Treasurer
    • Membership Officer
    • Web Master
    • Education Officer
  • The membership officer will act as co-signatory to treasurer.

Election of Officers

  • The chair and vice chair elections will take place in alternate years to enable greater continuity.
  • All other officers will be elected every two years at the same time as the chair.

Terms of Office

  • The term of office is 2 years.
  • No person may be elected to the same post for more than two consecutive terms.

Meetings

  • Meetings will be held at least four times a year.
  • The venue will rotate between Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway.
  • Meetings will be co-ordinated and chaired by the committee.
  • A quorum of five committee members will be necessary to hold a meeting.
  • Each member of the committee has a single vote. Decisions will be reached by consensus, then on simple majority. In the event of a tied vote, the chairperson will have a casting vote.
  • Extraordinary general meetings can be held if necessary.
  • All administrative functions will be carried out within the group.

Funding

  • Funding will be sourced from membership fees, commerical organisations and other relevant organisations.
  • The treasurer will produce an annual budget statement.

Annual Report

The committee will produce an annual report.

Conflict of Interest

All members of the committee should declare any conflict of interest. This will be recorded in the minutes of associations meetings.

Terms of Reference

Will be reviewed every two years with the election of a new chair.
